What is bad with Devetzi is that her best efford is usually the first one. So all the other girls know what jump they should do in order to beat her.

Something cool about Savigne is that she doesn't waste time on the runway. The clock was reading 59..58...and then she started her approach.

Kravetz really was amazing! So strange, she barely competed in the event, broke the WR in its first world champs appearance and amazingly it has stood the test of time. I Think Savigne has the complete jump, all phases can be fantastic. When she hits it, Inessas record will surely go. It's so odd that no woman has appraoched the 16m mark by now-

She competed a fair bit in TJ. But what made the 15.50 really remarkable is the way in which she did it. She started the Gothenburg final with 2 no jumps. Then on her third she looked like she was going for a safety jump - slow runup, took off about 20 cm behind the board - and, well, that was the 15.50. A WR by 41 cm. Still unapproached 12 years later.

BTW, she always looked awfully slow. I've always wondered whether she really was, or it was just her style of running that made it look so. Is there any concrete data available on her takeoff speed?

Kravets won the OG 96 title as well - with 15.33, which no-one bettered today. She was way ahead of her time.

Leb seems to have trouble with the TJ generally when doubling.

And then she failed a drugs test for the 2nd time or has everyone forgotten that

Kravets' WR has looked vulnerable, at least in 2004. Lebedeva's 15.34 and 15.28 into negative wind in 2004 were of similar standard as the 15.50. She was in great shape that whole year. I think Savigne has a chance in the future, maybe next year?

What I think?

From now on it´s just about winning and sportsmanship . Tuffer tests and judges. Out forever if you fail. If you don´t agree tell me.

Which records are 100% clean? Can you tell?

You're walking a very thin line. The guidelines:

3. Your posts do not go through any moderator before appearing on-site. Nonetheless, we actively screen what goes on, and any objectionable posts will be terminated. With extreme prejudice.

4. The definition of "objectionable post" rests solely with T&FN. Be advised up front that sexist/racist material is 100% out of bounds. As are accusations/suggestions that athlete/coach X is involved with illegal drugs.

I missed this:

"Tatyana Lysenko, who holds the world record in the women's hammer throw, tested positive for doping and could miss next month's World Championships, Russian media reported Friday."
