Return to Things Not T&F

Is Today the Day?? 10k for MJD???

A place for the discussion of all things not closely related to the sport and its competitive side. (Locked down several times a year during the major championships)

If that is how MJD looks, he very much resembles the King of Sweden.

i gotta admit, a lot of the times his posts are too cryptic or acerbic to understand ( or maybe that's just my handicap )

i just hope he does the 10,000th in his unique, inimitable style :

consisting of just a link !!!

Ok I have to end this. While thinking about this, Daisy scooped me on that PR video. Enough is enough.

First of all I thought you guys were kidding about the surprise party. I
feel bad about the outcome of my home defense system. In case you
weren't kidding, I was going to shut it off when I hit 10,000 but I
guess none of you noticed the unsubstantiated drug accusation that gh
yanked that reset me back to 9999. I really did try to call off my dog,"
Killer", but his training was just too good. The last time I saw my
canine, it was dragging Squackee into the woods as he screamed, "Is this
how you treat your guest MJD? I need a beer, please!"

At one time I had a huge mansion but I had to make a choice. Dumb myself
down to your level or quit posting. Well, the operation to take me from
a 260 IQ to somewhere around an ordinary house plant was quite costly.
The good news is that if I have to go to the bathroom, I don't have to get up.

Yes, I drive a poor man's Ferrari, a Miata(don't know how you got that
shot Daisy), but up here in the middle of nowhere they think it's a time
machine from the future. The woodchucks cower and the woman swoon.

The best part of the surprise party was hanging out in the kitchen
watching Tafnut get bombed, and he started opening up. He said he loved
everyone and started dancing to Van Halen. The weird part is the guy can
really dance but he should not do it in the nude!

Bad Hammy was there and the way he ran away with Killer chasing him
makes me think he's getting better. marknhj, gh and gm were all telling
the truth when they said that, if necessary, there are certain things
that will make them run. The three of them were a scary sight.

EPelle flew all the way from Sweden to attend. He was quickly bitten on
the ass by Killer and fell down the shaft of the outhouse. I hope he was
glad he came?

Mojo surprised me. Not only was she pounding beers but when Killer
approached she gave him a round house right and knocked him out cold!
This allowed Squackee to break free and he started pounding beers
shortly thereafter.

What finally settled the dog down was eldrick trying to explain all of
his formulas to it. It fell asleep.

guru was there trying to pawn off some autographed Marion Jones photos.

The biggest surprise of the evening was that it turns out that kuha was
really satch.

Ok, I'm kidding about that part. Kuha did show up and took some marvelous black and white pictures of Killer sinking his fangs into Jon Mulkeen's thigh. Jon was the perfect guest as he said, "I think he likes me?"

Daisy and pego showed up but left when they found out I had no
Leinenkugels beer.

Mrs. MJD, in a bit of a surprising introduction to my posting habits here, kept saying "Who are these people and what are they doing in my house?". She encouraged the dog. Sorry about that.

It was a lot of fun and we're all getting up tomorrow morning at 6 am for
my 8 mile run. Remember the movie Dawn of the Dead?

OK, who is this really, and what did you do with MJD??!!

MJD NEVER posts this much, and although he does have an excellent sense of humor, he would NEVER tattle on his friends like this!

If this really IS MJD, this is a most worthy 10000th and here's hoping all the hyperventilating clears his head for the Death March tomorrow morning!

Good on ya, mate!!

That's an honorary Tafny post.

Unfortunately it missed the :

3 consecutive years in a row/goldenised/"retired the Tafny for good" Copa Del Tafny

by dint of lacking just one measly yelim...

That was a comment on MJD 's 10'000 speech

It lacked the

Copa del Tafny accolade :

By that infinitesimal fraction - no yelim

Post that yelim in a single new post...

( BTW - It's Friday night & also drinking too much, but I met some very nice posters this week - I'm happy Image )

Memo to self:

Don't even think, ever, ever, ever, about doing 10,000 posts. It's obviously not worth it.

(Although by the time I did, the 10,000 club would not be nearly as exclusive as it is now, and tafnut will be in six digits.)

That is what have been saying. By the way, tafnut is right. Yesterday afternoon, I contacted my "vast network of personal contacts" before I posted that. The idea and a good part of that post was from squack, the funniest member of his family. Would have got it up sooner but it required a lot of spelling, grammar and punctation work. I don't know what the heck eldrick is talking about either.

A 'yelim' is a 'smiley' (inverted, w/o the s, cuz yelims is plural, so . . . never mind) Anyway - he thinks the post is unworthy cuz it wasn't illustrated. But then again, this is from the guy who thinks MJ ran her 11.06 INdoors because the lanes were multi-colored, even though the video clearly shows it's in an outdoor stadium. Sheeesh! He drinks a bit :-)

I'm guessing that you will find very few smileys(or any other emoticons) in any of those 10,000 posts. I guess he doesn't think it really happened. He was there for crying out loud. Must have been the Mike's.

Hey, congratulations MJD. My posting is severely limited at work (I think the mods called my employer) so I've been a little out of the loop. Way to go!

Oh what?

Oh, we're talking about 10,000 posts? OOOOOOH!

Hey MJD! Get a life!

Then show me where you got it so I can get one too.

EPelle flew all the way from Sweden to attend. He was quickly bitten on the ass by Killer and fell down the shaft of the outhouse. I hope he was glad he came?

No, because someone ate the last piece of cake before I crawled out of the hole. There was no warm water left in the pipes, and I smelled like the inside of a whale. Only good tihng about this was the plane trip back home last night - got my own special section right down in the cargo hold. Alas, it must have been the cologne I poured over myself to drown out the smell. What the hay - no one would have believed me if I told them the truth. I hope Killer can grow those front teeth back, and sorry about the plant on the porch, MJD - I will send you 20 SEK.

Bek ate the cake, the whole cake. Of course we did invite him but he wanted to go in disguise. I was shocked when he showed up looking exactly like Don King!

Hey EPelle, dont feel bad about the flight. I have stayed in the airport bar too long a couple of times and subsequently been re-classified as cargo. I had no idea you fell into septic tank. However I did overhear someone say, " Does anyone else smell the inside of a whale? "

Congrats, MJD – the man who provides the greatest quality posts in as few words possible. In his own words: "efficiency in all things."

And thanks for a great party. The leg is still a bit sore, but at least I made a new friend in Killer.
