Pre - Lindgren

I just received an email that referenced the 1969 PAC 8 XC Championships when Pre nipped Lindgren for the win. The email said that T&F editor GH stated it was the best race he ever saw. I would certainly like to hear anything about that race. Also there was a spectacular photo that I had never before seen - Pre a step or two ahead of Gerry. Any other such photos around?

Actually Lindgren was the official winner of that cross country race at Stanford. It was one of the closest and best races I ever saw. If you have the November, 1969, issue of TFN, you can see the finish photograph on page 5.

Charles Dyer has a series of photos from the race. You can see some of them by searching google images. Earlier in the season, Pre beat Lindgren in a dual meet.

what i find when I google-image Pre/Lindgren is the largest collection of pirated photos imaginable. sigh.
